Birding

Yellow Warbler-Campbell Valley Park
A number of people have asked me what I have been doing with my new found freedom. Since my retirement (April 2011) from the hustle and bustle of the newspaper business I have led a nature photography workshop and have been visiting birding locations around the Lower Mainland. The results can be seen in the Animals-B.C. Birds gallery.
Stalking birds or just sitting and waiting has a certain meditative quality that reminds me of when I used to fish for carp and tench. A bit of patience bring huge rewards plus you get to be serenaded with birdsong. What better way to spend a day or two or three.
